One of the roles of the EUCN is to act as a dissemination point for knowledge and aid in developing academic networks. This section of the website includes links to opportunities, events, other EU and EU Studies websites and resources developed to help with research and teaching the EU within New Zealand. This will provide an extension of network opportunities, exchange of ideas, access to additional expertise and build connections with experts that are not locally available.
Since its inception in 2001, the prestigious Europa Lecture series has featured high profile speakers including politicians, policy-advisors, diplomats and academics. Past speakers include three Commissioners, the New Zealand Prime Minister and Foreign Ministers. Keep an eye on this section as registration will be required.
Europe House will be established to provide a focal point for EU-related cultural activities and diplomatic events in Auckland.
EU in Schools
EU in Schools events had a very successful introduction in 2012, and since then the Model EU Training and Simulation Event for senior High School students has become one of the highlights of the year. In conjunction with the student event, a Professional Development Workshop for Secondary School Teachers will be offered.
